- CUSTOMER MUST ARRIVE IN CHINA BEFORE SHIPMENT, IN ORDER TO COMPLETE IMPORT FORMALITIES
- Personal registration of owner of the goods and employer's registration must be approved before arrival of the shipment.
- Used household goods and personal effects are dutiable for Chinese persons holding a foreign passport and foreigners entering China for an extended - period of time (not holding a Residence Card).
- Only one air and one sea shipment may be imported within six months of Customer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Separate shipments to China are permitted but all to-be-imported items must be declared at the time of applying for Import Permit.
- Physical customs inspection is applicable to all shipment (except for diplomats shipment). Shipments can only be released by after all duties/taxes have been paid.
- A clause "DIPLOMATIC GOODS" must be clearly mentioned on OBL or AWB for shipment of consulate staff in order to receive duty exemption.
- Videotapes are subject to inspection, which takes 15-20 days. Must be in clearly marked on both inventory and carton, loaded in an accessible place.
- Major electrical appliances and electronic goods on the IMPORT PERMIT must match those items stipulated on the packing lists. Brand, model, and serial numbers must be marked on the packing inventory (or on separate list attached to inventory).
- Origin agent or transshipment agent must ensure that no shipment arrive in China prior to the goods owner?s arrival and complete all necessary formalities. Substantial demurrage may thus be incurred otherwise.
- Returning Chinese citizens do not need IMPORT PERMIT to import shipment.
- Returning Chinese citizens may not import furniture.
